Real Housewives Of Atlanta Reunion: Who’s The Shadiest Of All?

By Karen Malmquist

Karen M.MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL, Who’s the shadiest of them all? Yes, “shade” was once again the magic word during part two of Sunday’s Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion. Is anyone surprised? And hold on to your wigs, because whether we like it or not, Kim is back.

Picking up from last week, NeNe discusses her newfound love for sitting back and watching the drama unfold around her — instead of starting it herself. Getting to observe the train wreck instead of creating it seems to be a refreshing change of pace for her.

Andy Cohen has us take a look back at how NeNe and Gregg rekindled their love and became altar-bound once again. NeNe explains that their marriage began to fall apart when the show began, and how the drama with the other ladies created a negative atmosphere for their marriage. She mentions that Phaedra sought out Marlo last season, knowing that rumors about NeNe dating Marlo’s former flame Charles would arise. Phaedra denies it.

For a while I think we all forgot about Phaedra’s butt-dial to Cynthia, when she said she “didn’t give a f*** if Cynthia came” to her son’s birthday party. So we get to re-live that again, along with a clip of her and Apollo dismissing divorce rumors.

Phaedra’s alleged shadiness is brought up again, and she actually says she hasn’t thrown any shade behind people’s backs this season. Really? The bipolar comment wasn’t shady?

NeNe says that in her first season, Phaedra tracked down her half-sisters, whom she hasn’t spoken to in eight years and has no relationship with, trying to dig up dirt on NeNe. Phaedra denies this, but NeNe angrily stands by her claim, saying that one of her sisters even reached out to her and told her what was going on. Phaedra makes a face and shrugs this off. I’m sensing a theme of denial with her tonight.

Phaedra says that NeNe thinks everyone is out to get her, and that her sisters were the ones who came to Phaedra, even asking to come to Ayden’s birthday party.

Kenya chimes in and says she isn’t surprised about all of this, but just as Phaedra’s about to pounce, she’s cut off. Andy abruptly welcomes Kim (sans wig) into the room, and you can cut the tension with a bulldozer. Kandi looks especially peeved when Kim sits down next to her.

We take a look back at Kim’s 10 minutes of screen time this season, and her constant excuses as to why she couldn’t hang out with the ladies. Her dramatic exit is shown, and then she and Andy discuss her reasons for not coming to Anguilla. She says that she never confirmed going on the trip, and that she wasn’t able to go because of how far along she was in her pregnancy. The others say that they had all discussed the trip with her prior to filming, and she was on board. Kim denies this.

When Kandi tries to explain how Kim never had time for anyone anymore, Kim talks over her to Andy. Kandi says she feels Kim held the other ladies to a different standard, and Kim argues that she’s the only one (besides Kroy) who’s raising her kids, so that’s where she and Kandi are different. Of course Kandi gets mad. Unfortunately, it doesn’t get discussed further.

Andy shows Kim a clip of what happened immediately after she stormed out of the infamous brunch — all the ladies finally came together! Well, for a very brief moment. Still, it was very sweet. Kim, however, looks indifferent as she watches NeNe lead everyone in an impromptu sing-along at the table.

Remember the nightmare that was the making of Kim’s dream home? Well, we see that happen (or, in this case, NOT), and her comments about how Kandi’s new place is in “the hood.” Kim then explains that she wasn’t bashing her home, but that Sweetie was the one who told her lock her doors when they drove into the neighborhood. Am I the only one getting jealous vibes from Kim, because she had to move back into her old townhouse?

Andy asks NeNe if she thinks Kim can come off as racist or ignorant, and NeNe says that there are definitely times when she says things that come off as ignorant. Kim says she doesn’t see race.

Before there were the dueling workout DVDs, there was a battle over baby names starting with a K. Andy asks whether or not Kandi feels that Kim stole the name Kash for her and Kroy’s baby. Kandi says that Kim knew she was the first one who had the idea for her own future child. Conveniently, Kroy walks into the room and hands Kim the emails and LLC forms where she claimed the name Kash. Kandi says she’s over it. We all are at this point.

Andy asks Kim what she would’ve done differently in her four-and-a-half season run. She says she wasn’t prepared for how big the show would become, but she doesn’t regret anything. When asked if she thinks she and NeNe would be friends again, she says that she’s glad for everything that NeNe brought into her life. After all, if NeNe had never asked her to join the show, she wouldn’t have met her husband and have two new children.

Things might’ve ended on a sweet note this time around, but during next week’s conclusion, we see Porsha lose her cool while defending Kordell.
